For a number of years, many companies have found that print advertising is an important component of cross-media marketing campaigns because it can be powerful in attracting customers.

Cross-media marketing allows a company to capitalise on the advantages of different media formats in modern marketing. In some instances, print mail more effectively helps a company to increase response rates than email marketing.

The reason for print media achieving a better rate of response than email is because buyers are left with a piece of advertising that can be held in their hands and kept. The Direct Marketing Association has conducted a study showing that a response rate of 3.4% can be achieved through direct mail campaigns to existing customers. In contrast, a response rate of just 0.12% may be achieved through similar email campaigns.

The DMA study also indicated that print media achieved a better cost per lead or order. This is highly significant to business professionals who want to raise response rates of marketing campaigns which employ a variety of media while keeping costs down in a difficult economy.

Evidence also shows that print media is effective as part of a cross-media marketing campaign because many people still rely on printed materials to help them decide where they will shop and make purchases.

It’s important to consider the options when
choosing a brochure printing service. Even though both digital printing and
offset printing creates quality product, always remember that offset printing
is preferable for applying certain finishes such as varnish and gloss, and for
specialty colours. When choosing the best brochure printing service provider,
you should consider the turnaround time and the duration it takes for your
brochures to arrive after placing an order. There are several factors to
consider when comparing brochure printing services in your area.

First and foremost, it is important to consider the brochure design and
selection. There are numerous paper (substrate) options to choose from which
include paper, card, plastic and linen among many others. Some brochures printing
companies have custom services to print on specialty materials depending on
your needs and requirement. An excellent business brochure printing firm
provides unique design options such as different shapes of brochures, rounded
corners as well as foiling and other finishing options.

In the case you are ordering brochures online, it is vital
that you know you can easily and quickly connect with the designer, customer
support personnel and printer during each and every step of the process.
Most companies provide phone and email support. However, always
consider relying on companies that do not provide prompt response to
emails. The best printers have friendly personnel who are fast and polite at answering questions
in a way that is simple to understand.

It is also essential that you consider the
additional printing services provided. Remember that creating a perfect logo
and having a business brochure printed is a big step in ensuring the growth
of your business through marketing. It is important to note that putting that
image onto various other marketing materials like business cards, envelopes and
flyers assists your business look established and professional.
Many business brochure printing services provide
other print products on which you can have your company colour scheme and logo
printed. Always remember that business brochures are an inexpensive and
effective way of increasing the exposure of your company. Printed brochures
provide a great marketing option.

In today’s digital age, many of us have seemingly forgotten the fine art of creating a beautiful paper-based presentation, project, or proposal. You may be able to capitalise on this the next time you need to impress someone—whether that is your boss, your coworkers, or a potential new client. If you want to stand out from the crowd and showcase your attention to detail and quality, choosing a professional binding for your project can make an amazing difference.

About Stitching

Stitching refers to the process of connecting the papers of the project to the cover, and there are numerous stitching styles available. As you learn more about each bind, try to visualize your completed project to determine whether it would be a good fit.

Saddle Stitching

This is an extremely popular kind of binding style. With saddle stitching, all of the sheets of papers are gathered together and folded. Two or more staples are then utilized at the folded crease area to secure all of the papers together. The end result is a very elegant-looking bind that looks perfect for a variety of personal or professional projects.

Wire Binding

You are probably already familiar with wire binding if you ever utilised writing notebooks in school, as they are typically wire-bound. This bookbinding is very useful for large projects that have a substantial amount of documents that need to be kept together, yet have to be accessed quickly and easily. Other names for wire binding include:
• “Twin loop wire”
• “Ring wire”
• “Wireband”
• “Double-o”

Perfect and Burst Binding

Burst binding is very similar to “perfect binding,” which is the standard bind for most commercially produced books. The end result for either bind is a flat-edged spine that looks extremely professional, while simultaneously providing substantial support and protection to the pages within. Perfect binding is frequently used for textbooks, as well as other books that are expected to get a lot of wear and tear from being opened and closed repeatedly.

PUR Binding

“PUR” is short for PolyUrethane Reactive, and PUR binding is one of the most durable types available today. It is very similar to perfect binding, except that the two use different kinds of adhesives to secure the pages.

Section Sewing

Section sewing refers to the manner in which the sections of the project are attached. Typically, they are glued or stapled; with section sewing, they are stitched together using actual thread.

Project Ideas

Just as there are so many different bookbinding options to choose from, there are countless projects that can benefit from a professional bind. A few examples include:

• Community projects, like neighbourhood event booklets, brochures, and guides.
• Professional projects, such as instruction manuals, catalogues, policy documents, and research notes.
• Financial projects, like profit and loss statements or annual reports.

Learn More Today

Many printers require a minimum order before they will consider taking a job. While larger companies may be able to fill those numbers, smaller businesses typically do not need to order items by the thousands. Additionally, there are times in which a small company may need to turn a job on short notice, and skyrocketing fees for a rush print don’t always fit the budget. Having a relationship with a printing company that knows how to partner with a small business is invaluable.

Fitting Your Needs

A short-run printer is a company that will only print the number of items you need instead of offering you set quantities from which to choose. That means that you only need to print and pay for what you will actually use. When you consider that the average company ends up throwing away as much as 30 percent of their printed materials, sticking to smaller numbers seems to make good financial and environmental sense.

Providing Flexibility

One of the best reasons to take advantage of short run printing is that is gives you flexibility with your materials. A small company can go through many changes over time, from office location to personnel to product line. Instead of wasting printed materials because they become out of date, you can print smaller amounts as you need it. This will allow for a re-design in between jobs.

A Better Bottom Line

It goes without saying that when you print less, it will cost you less. Also take into consideration that short run jobs are done on a digital printer, which means you will not have to pay for the cost of set-up or the creation of plates. Offset printing, which is used when printing large quantities of items, typically comes with those fees.

Quality Service When You Need It

Whether you need your items back in two weeks or two hours, short run digital printing can handle it. Because there is little the printer needs to do in order to set up the job, turnaround time is relatively quick. Even better, the quality of your job is not sacrificed because digital printers offer the same precision and output as larger prints that go through the off-set method.

Personalization

If you are looking into doing a mailing or otherwise targeting certain customers, a short run print is perfect. You can separate your audience however you want, customizing letters or advertisements and ordering only the number you need without incurring the additional cost of setting up each individual mailer. For a business that is sales-driven, this personal touch can actually increase the number of people who open and respond to your mailing.

Small businesses looking to increase their profitability while still utilizing quality printing will enjoy the benefits of working with a company that does short run jobs. Through only ordering what you need, you minimize waste and give yourself the flexibility to change up information as you need to. Additionally, you can take advantage of customizing your mailers for your target audience without worrying about any additional set-up fees. Utilizing a short run printer can save you money and help you improve the way you do business.

There are a number of ways to create a brochure that successfully influences and conveys a message to potential customers.

According to Entrepreneur.com, effective brochures provide a clear and succinct overview of what the business is about and what it can offer. In contrast, a poorly crafted brochure confuses, frustrates and deters potential customers.

It is most important that a brochure has a strong headline that captures the audience’s attention. An effective headline will include the interests and likely problems of the target audience. And if possible, it will hint at the solutions that the company can offer to remedy these problems.

Great brochures do not exacerbate any customer confusion. For this reason, care should be taken not to saturate the audience with information and messages. Focus should be maintained on the interests of the target audience. And all ideas should be succinctly expressed.

Big, complex words that are hard to understand should be avoided whenever possible. And always a clear call to action must be provided. Sometimes, the audience needs an incentive to act, which is why a free product, estimate or gift is a great way to generate the motivation they need to engage with the business.

High-quality, glossy paper should be used to create a brochure that stands out from others. If a business distributes thin and flimsy brochures, customers can quickly develop a negative or cheap impression.

The potential of printed notepads as a powerful marketing tool for a business should not be underestimated. When notepads are tastefully developed and feature a business’ corporate logo, they can significantly boost the image of the brand and offer a worthwhile return on investment.

According to an article on SelfGrowth.com, when printing notepads for the purpose of corporate promotion, it is essential to first choose the right paper. Many printers recommend using a paper of medium thickness that will give a good quality feel, but also allow for enough pages per pad. The paper should also provide a nice, smooth writing surface that is stable.

Marketers should also devote some thought to the size of their promotional notepads. To choose the right size, a business needs to be aware of what the notepad will be used for and how it will be distributed. Quite often, smaller sized notepads are actually the most useful and handy. If possible, it can also be helpful to find out the size of the planner or binder that the notepads need to fit prior to having them made.

Pre-punching holes in notepads is an effective way of making it is more convenient for the user.

Direct Marketing Association (DMA) research has shown that 79% of consumers exercise an immediate response to direct mail, as opposed to just 45% of consumers who immediately deal with the emails they receive.

This research also indicates that the preferred way of receiving marketing from local shops and banks is still direct mail. Yet to receive marketing communication about events and competitions, email has become a more favoured channel.

According to Rachel Aldighieri, the DMA’s Director of Communications and Insight, direct mail and printed communications from brands are highly valued. Many brands find that direct mail and print communications allow for seamless connection with consumers, and provide qualities that are not available through other communications.

Despite the reliance that many people and businesses have on online communication, life is not conducted entirely over the Internet. In a world that is genuinely connected, effective marketing on the part of brands means that printed communications play a significant role now and will continue to matter into the future.

There is far more to successful business card design than simply including the logo of the business and the contact information, and then sending it on to a printer.

According to 99designs.com, each business card needs to be created according to specifications and requirements. But a designer should ask a series of questions to determine the correct design style.

Does the client have any specifications that must be incorporated into the card?

Has the colour mode in the design software been set to a print ready CMYK?

Have bleeds been set up so they’re ready for printing?

Are images being incorporated well into the design?

Do you have legal rights to use all of the fonts?

Is the file saved in the correct format for the print shop?

For many businesses, flyers are a cost-effective marketing tool. A bonus is also that because they are so affordable, they are an opportunity for some wonderfully creative designs.

According to experts, in order to achieve the greatest returns and best results from a flyer, it is useful to distribute them in unique places.

Most businesses send a variety of mail each month. It can be effective and clever to include a flyer with every piece of mail that is sent. These flyers are likely to travel through many pairs of hands after a piece of mail is opened.

Flyers left on train or bus seats, empty tables in restaurants and cafes, or left with tips and bill payments can attract significant attention as well.

Flyers also often make excellent bookmarks. When fulfilling this role, they frequently get read and noticed, sometimes by numerous people. Some people have done this effectively by collaborating with owners of bookshops or librarians.

Laundromats and pay phone facilities can also be excellent and effective places to leave a few flyers.
